East of Barcelona southeast to Jamacha trailhead is a bit creepy at parts but worth the hike. Bottom of valley surrounded by five hills is very peaceful. Abandoned road and a nice underpass. Barcelona area is a lush oasis and up to summit is an exceptional reward-based hike.
Lots of trails to hike and explore. A very beautiful preserve.
You can hike for quite a while. There are multiple trail offshoots. Start at Barcelona St. if you want shade! Head east for a mellow shady hike with a few inclines. This will take you toward Jamacha and Pointe pkwy. Head west to dictionary hill for a steeper hike with no shade. Hardly anyone here on a Friday evening or Saturday morning. Recommend long pants as their is a lot of plants and trails are mostly narrow.
Beautiful views!! Hiked for over 3 hours. 4 stars only because something growled out at us so be careful when you’re out there.
One of my favorite places to take my kids. It is several trails to take, from super easy to somewhat hard. It really depends on how hard you wanna take it. It is right up the street from where we live, so it provides great surroundings at a close distance.
