Nice park for a quick walk or run, with some playground for the kids.
This is not a safe park for children.
There are multiple issues and damaged equipment that will be a huge liability for the City of Southfield if they don’t repair/update this park. Even before Covid, slides were closed off, the mound was starting to get a hole and there were broken climbing ropes. This does not include seeing duct tape to repair various holes in slides. For the amount of taxes the community pays for this, this should be taken care of asap.
The city of Southfield should be ashamed of themselves. This should be reported.
My children love this park. The city of Southfield does an amazing job with keeping this park clean and safe.
I encountered a racist caucasian male with a group of children (about 7 or eight) that he deliberately moved to a position to block the trail so that I had to walk on grass. I had my head covered with a scarf for modesty. No shade on beautiful and clean trail. Probably won’t visit again.
I have been going to this park since I was a kid! My kids now rate it a 10/10 and I still love it as well! I love the trail at this park it’s a nice size and you’re not taken to a faraway land and the playground for the kids is huge with many obstacles. There are swings and even a tire swing to bring back the good memories. There are bathrooms which make it even better. My kids ask to go back all the time. Oh! We even had the joy of the ice cream truck coming back to sweeten the trip!
