Our experience with Nick was absolutely amazing! He got back to us quick and offered his advice even before meeting us when hearing our situation. He was able to accommodate to our short schedule immediately which was so nice. He was able to offer his support and advice for our pitbull and in a hour span we were able to already see changes in how she responds with his tricks. He definitely provided us with way more information than we thought and was extremely helpful overall.

My Aussie and I learned to work TOGETHER under Nick’s direction, but it was more like I learned how to give my Aussie what he needed to do well. Nick’s teaching was focused more on training ME because I was the one screwing up the dog/handler relationship. I was stubborn and lax in discipline but Nick was patient, thorough, and adapted my training to where I stopped being so bull-headed and got in line and it worked! Time with Nick was not a quick fix and I had homework every week for six weeks but it was well worth it. Nick’s time, attention, and knowledgeable training gave me, in 6 weeks, the tools I needed to feel more confident walking my dog, handling & diverting him from distractions, and recognizing that I need to be more vocal in order to be a better Aussie handler. Thank you Nick, Sage, and Eva and not to mention his family at home that gives him support behind the scenes so he can focus on those more stubborn dog owners! Thank you Nick!

Nick is an amazing trainer. I highly recommend him we have learned so much from him about ourselves as dog owners and our pups. They are doing so much better. If you want a great trainer in the area you should definitely go with Southern Maryland Canine Academy.

I cannot recommend Nick enough! He is so good with all dogs and owners. He loves what he does and it shows. He explains things well and helps make magic happen! My dogs absolutely love him and they enjoy training with him and his treats too! Go to SMCA for all your training needs!

Nick was able to help us with our pompsky puppy Echo. We were struggling as a family with his mouthing/biting, jumping and spazzing with guests and just basic listening. Nick came to our home which allowed us to work in the environment we’re in most. He addressed our concerns while helping us to understand our dog better. We’re still having to work on our training (mostly us because consistency is key) but he’s a much better dog than where we started nd it’s been great to see his progress. Nick really took the time to help us understand some of how or why Echo was doing what he was which helps us work with him every day. We can’t thank Nick and SMCA enough for helping us!
