Wheeler Dog Park

Wheeler Dog Park is a spacious and well-maintained dog park featuring separate areas for high-energy and mellow dogs rather than by size. The park offers grassy fields with some worn areas on hillsides, shaded spots under trees, and beautiful scenic views. Amenities include water spigots, trash bins, poop bags, benches for seating, and wheelchair accessible parking. The park is open from dawn to dusk and encourages responsible dog behavior. There are on-leash walking trails nearby and it caters well to both active and less active dogs.

Best dog park around. Grassy large field for long runs, water hoses accessible and lots of benches. Nice place to meet new dogs and their humans.
My first time visiting this local dog park with my puppy, and had a bad experience. From another man and his dog at the dog park. My dog and I where here first then him and his dog came. His dog was very high energy and grabbing ahold on my dogs neck while making growling noises. I held both his dogs harness and my dogs collar to split it up and make sure my dog was consenting to this man’s dogs behavior. He didn’t do anything about this besides tell me “I should go into the other side because this is how dogs play and if I don’t want them playing like this I need to go on the other side” I didn’t say anything and went into the other side of the dog park. Had a good experience on the other side and have no issues with the dog park itself but very upset this happened my first time coming here. Most likely won’t be back because of his irresponsibility.
What a Beautiful place! Gorgeous views for folks and a great place for both active and not so active dogs.
Open dawn to dusk…it’s a very nice spot!
A gentle reminder to police your own dog while there. A clean dog park is a beautiful dog park! Please do your part.
What a gem! I was traveling in the area with my service dog, and she deserved a break. This is a good sized park! It’s clean, the gates are beautifully maintained, and there’s easy parking.
Good sized park. Separate areas by energy level, not dog size (high energy vs. mellow)
People were not friendly – not actively unfriendly, but no greeting from a single person, and they were all chatting in little cliques.
Grass ground cover, but it’s mostly worn away on the hillside, which, i suspect, would make it fairly slippery in rain or snow.
Only shade is from the trees at the top of the hill. There is a water spigot, trash and poop bags.
There are also trails for on-leash walks outside the dog park.
