The park goes the extra mile for pet owners—dog waste bags and water for dogs are regularly available, and the trails include plenty of seating and shaded spots for relaxation. In addition, there’s a playground for kids, picnic tables, public restrooms, and barbecue grills, making Windsor Castle Park a perfect family-friendly outing for both two and four-legged visitors.
Beautiful park with multiple walking trails, a bike trail and kayak rentals. Perfectly maintained and what looked to be a great play area for kids. Definitely recommend!
Took my puppy to the dog park for the first time. It was about a 30 minute drive from us and the entrance was easy to find. When we brought our dog to the entrance there was one specific dog that was growling, showing teeth, and barking at him (through the fence) His owner comes over and said “oh he isn’t neutered? That’s why, he doesn’t like un-neutered males and most of the dogs that are here don’t” I checked the park rules before considering this park as an option. Being neutered wasn’t a requirement, but aggressive dogs were listed as prohibited from the park. Since we do not want to put our puppy in potential danger, we had to enter the second gated area where my pet was the only one roaming the park. Super disappointed, this was supposed to be exciting for us and it did nothing but ensure we never return here. Stayed about 10 minutes and left. Seems like she frequents the dog park since she apparently knows all of the other dogs. Please find another dog park for your pet.
It’s so many things to do such as walk, trails, bike, trails, and kayaking. You can also rent kayaks at the location where you can launch your kayak at. The trails are so amazing. You can walk for hours to get a good walk and even run through the trails as well. They also have dog parks and a small playground for the kids, and you have sitting areas throughout the trail that you can get great view of nature.
I live in Smithfield and I still can’t get enough of this walking park! It’s peaceful, goes near water,
Woods, views of the town and deer and painted turtles, herons and hawks often show up.
We scored a rental in the historical district and couldn’t love it more! This park is in our backyard… literally! The bridge is very well maintained and all flowers around the walking area too. Ground maintenance does a fantastic job for such a huge park and also the residents love this park so you never see trash, always see dog waste bags and also water for dogs. Super dog friendly (on leashes of course) and my husky goes for many walks a day here. It’s a nice spot for picnics, events, etc. too.
