If you’re searching for a dog-friendly getaway in the mountains, the Inn at Snowshoe offers comfortable and affordable accommodations just minutes from top outdoor attractions. While not a dedicated dog park, its proximity to pet-friendly trails and the beautiful West Virginia wilderness makes it a popular choice for visitors traveling with dogs. Slaty Fork and the surrounding Snowshoe area are known for dog-friendly hiking and access to outdoor recreation throughout the year.
Guests highlight the spacious rooms (some even apartment-style), friendly staff, and amenities like an indoor pool and hot tub. You’ll be close to popular slopes and trailheads, so it’s easy to head out for on-leash adventures with your pup. While the hotel does not appear to offer dedicated fenced dog runs or off-leash areas, its location is ideal for exploring the natural beauty and pet-friendly trails of the Snowshoe Resort area. This is a top choice for visitors seeking a dog-friendly hotel near the heart of West Virginia’s mountain playground.
Hotel was great. Only issue was the mattress in our room. It had a huge curve in it. Needs replacement! Pool and hot tubs were great!

The rooms aren’t super luxurious but how much time are you really spending there? Absolute gem for the price (incredibly low prices). Close to the top of the mountain for slopes or trails, great indoor pool and hot tub, and excellent staff. Mary on night shift was a HUGE help in ensuring I had all of my maps and passes for where I wanted to go. Even after I checked out, the cleaning staff chased me down to return my phone cable. Incredible place and I’ll definitely stay there again.

Rooms were clean. Night front desk lady very pleasant and helpful. Bathtub/shower was a dangerous nightmare. The bottom surface of the tub was extremely slippery and contoured. NOT even flat. A large hump in the center of the tub that forced your feet to slide. If that not dangerous enough, the shower curtain was 6″ too long and kept getting underfoot. The real irony was THIS was a handicap room.

Starting with the good:
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was huge, especially for the price. This was an apartment not a hotel room or suite. Easily fit 6 people and looks like you could add an adjoining room for more beds. 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and dining room. Ample pantry space and an apartment sized refrigerator. Full stove with glasses, dishes etc. There was a 6 person table and chairs along with bar stools at the kitchen counter. The room had a jacuzzi complete with jets. Both bedrooms were very large. The windows were huge, allowing for a very open feeling. A tv in each bedroom as well as the living room. The living room had 2 couches, one large enough that an adult could sleep on it and the other a younger person. The unit had all new ac units.
The not so good:
For the most part, the room was pretty run down. Carpeting was wrinkled and presented a pretty significant trip hazard. The ceiling had obviously leaked in the past and the repairs were terrible at best. There was chunks of carpet missing from where the ac units had been changed. The fire sprinklers were installed and in many cases, not trimmed in properly. The jacuzzi tub was dirty around all the trim especially the wood on the back and side. Wall paper was peeling in several places. The furniture gave a not so clean feeling. The window in the living room had finger prints and filth all over as well as someone had spit a huge luge (sp) and it was left there to dry. I don’t see how cleaning could miss cleaning the windows after every use, not to mention leaving something as disgusting as this. They had a coffee pot,’coffee, cups, spoons 🤔 but no cream or sugar. This is a first for me. Never seen a hotel do this.
If they would clean up and do some repairs they could be killer.
