Thayer Park on Skaneateles Lake’s north side is a fantastic spot. It’s a small park with great views and is conveniently located near excellent shops and restaurants. You can even catch a cruise boat close by. Just be aware of magfly season, especially around July 4th, as they can be quite abundant.

Love it here! It’s great for staying away from most of the tourist traffic as it’s less popular and has the best features of the downtown area lake front.

There’s not much to it but I will say when you go to Skaneateles , NY you may want to go and sit for a while. There are a few benches on the edge of one of the most beautiful lakes in the United States. Lake Skaneateles is so clear and bright blue, and the small waves lap the shore while the breeze carries the sweat smell of clean country air. It is a great place to sit and contemplate life’s many facets.
