🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Please note: Kowalonek’s Kielbasy Shop is not a dog park. It is a famous, authentic Polish deli and butcher shop located in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. Renowned for their legendary kielbasa and Polish delicacies, visitors from all over travel to taste their offerings and experience the friendly, bustling atmosphere. If you’re looking for a dog park in Shenandoah, Kowalonek’s is a fantastic stop for pet-friendly snacks and local flavor, but it does not have dog park facilities.
The shop has become a local institution, drawing lines out the door on weekends. Customers recommend bringing a cooler for all the goodies you’ll want to bring home. While it doesn’t feature a fenced dog area, pet owners love to visit for special treats after local outings. If you’re searching for true dog park amenities like off-leash areas, water stations, or dog-friendly trails, consider other parks in the area.
Nice small store, friendly clerks provided samples and suggestions. Probably the best sausage I have ever eaten. 90 minute roundtrip is well worth going there from home.
We drove from Lancaster based on the legend of Kowaloneks. With a trunk full of coolers we embarked on a men’s trip. They did not disappoint I ate a pound of jerk on the way home. Go prepared to know what you want. It is very busy on a Saturday and as a first timer I felt the pressure to get my order in and get out of the way. All the staff and customers couldn’t have been nicer. The kielbasa was certainly worth the trip. I’m positive this will not be my last visit.

If you like Polish deli type foods and kielbasa, then there is no better place to go. Bring a cooler. This place can be PACKED so timing is everything. So much of what they make can be put in the freezer and thawed later without issues. We’ve been here when the line goes up the block just to get in and other times when we are one of just a few in the store. The smell of the store is amazing (if you like the smell of fresh made kielbasa, etc). They should make a candle scented like the store smells. This is a MUST stop.

My husband bought dynamite shrimp dip today and when we opened it, it looks like someone had already eaten some. Needless to say it went right in the garbage.
