New rest area with unique structure. Not much info here. There are trails but it’s all new. Time will improve the views and wildlife

Nate Demers

It’s a shame they are tearing down this iconic structure. The new design is not durable and has no chance of lasting for decades like the current one.

Was a rainy day so we couldnt check out the trails but the Wigwams alone made it worth the stop. Bathrooms we clean and well stocked as well. Porta potty.

Very interesting and picturesque rest stop, with views of the Seney Wildlife Refuge ponds. There is a functioning out house located here (no running water).

The undercover tables are great in inclement weather. A little graffiti, and a little bit warn. The outdoor picnic tables have a bit of green growth from being under the trees. On a dry day likely not a problem, but on damp days might run off on your clothes. Carry-out your own trash, but a pit toilet is available when needed.
