Located in the heart of Selmer, Tennessee, the Dixie Park Splash Pad and Dog Park offers a convenient and friendly spot for dog owners and their furry companions. This well-maintained, fenced-in park features separate areas for large and small dogs, making it an excellent choice for pups of all sizes to enjoy some off-leash exercise. Patrons appreciate the ample parking, clean environment, and the agility equipment found in both dog sections, great for dogs who love to play and stay active. Picnic tables, benches, and trash cans are available for visitor comfort, and the park is known for its tidy grounds thanks to conscientious locals.
The dog park is right next to the popular splash pad and playground, making it easy for families to enjoy both pet-friendly fun and activities for kids. While the water fountain may not always be operational, especially in winter, visitors typically bring their own water to ensure their dogs stay hydrated. Waste stations and bags are usually provided, although it’s a good idea to come prepared. With its central location and easy access, this dog park is a beloved community resource for stretching your pet’s legs during a visit to Selmer or while exploring McNairy County’s pet-friendly trails and attractions.
My dog enjoys it there but take ur own dog water. Fountain hasn’t worked for yrs.
It was nice but too small.
If people would pick up their dogs big poops it would be OK. I mean they even supply a scoop and a place to dump .
Maybe need, “How to” signs if someone can’t figure what is proper.
Its really awesome they have this. Sucks it closes so early in the season since it’s not freezing or even close yet but still one of my daughters favorite things to do. Plus the dog park is nice and the bathrooms are clean. Just need to watch out tweakers are moving into every city park it seems.
The Dixie Dog Park is right next to the Splash Pad. Small, clean, fenced in park. Ample parking and seating available. Many fun things for the dogs to partake in. The patrons and/or groundskeepers keep it nice – I only noticed one spot of dog feces while walking the grounds. There are agility toys in both, the little and big park, but my pup was more interested in sniffing out who was there before him. I noticed a place for poop bags that was empty but someone placed a container of bags near by. Scoops are located near the poop designated trash can. The water fountain was not working on this visit, perhaps it had to do with it being winter and the water in the splash pad turned off. I’m not sure. We will continue to return.
Love this little park. Easy access. Easy parking. Clean and has plenty of picnic tables and garbage cans.. You can even bring your dog to the dog park right next door to it.
