A really nice roadside park and picnic area with very good explanations about how ppl have made a living here, the geology, scenery, the Wabanaki, and the blueberry bush ecology.
Came after it was burnt. Still worth the easy climb to see the view. Lots of information about the area and its inhabitants.
I once saw the most beautiful sunset here on a mild summer’s evening. My friend and I said, “Wow, if only we had ice cream.” And then a family pulled up to a nearby picnic table with cones and a gallon of chocolate ice cream, and then offered us some, which we gladly accepted. You may be so lucky at Caterpillar Hill.
Great views! Had two picnic tables. No bathroom which is a commodity while out sightseeing on the island! Many restaurants are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and even those are few.
