Discover the Brookside Nature Trail, a scenic, pet-friendly trail nestled in the heart of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. This short gravel path, approximately a quarter mile long, winds alongside a peaceful brook and through quiet suburban neighborhoods, offering a relaxing escape for local residents and their four-legged companions. Surrounded by natural greenery and culminating at a small pond, this dog-friendly hiking spot is perfect for a leisurely stroll close to home.
While the trail is limited in size and amenities, it is best enjoyed by those within walking distance. Please note that there is no on-site parking available, so it’s most convenient for nearby residents. If you and your pup are seeking a tranquil, pet-friendly walk and a break from city bustle, Brookside Nature Trail is a local favorite for a quick outing.
The place is good, but too small
About 400m long trail, very relaxing
A short cutaway gravel path that follows the brook. Must be about a quarter mile one way. Was quite scenic though adjacent to a whole lot of backyards of houses along the route. Rough gravel path bordered with thorny bushes.
No parking on either side. So, it’s nice if you live close by withing walking distance. Else not worth the drive.
The trail is fine. Nice, short path to walk if you are in the area, but I would not drive out of the way to go here.
Great little trail in the middle of suburbia. Very relaxing walk next to a little brook, hence the name. Culminates at a small pond, not sure if fishing is allowed there or not.
