Calle Barquero Open Space is a pleasant dog park located in Santa Barbara offering a natural open space environment where dogs can enjoy off-leash play. The park features basic amenities including seating areas, shaded spots, and ample parking, making it a comfortable visit for dog owners. While it does not have specialized separate areas for different dog sizes or agility equipment, it provides a peaceful setting for dogs to socialize and exercise freely.
Calle Barquero Open Space is a small park with 2 play structures and a spring platform. It is located in Noleta near University Dr and Patterson Ave.
Pro
There are play structures for both 2-5 year old and 5-12 year olds.
The bouncy platform was a hit with my kids, lots of giggles.
There is a drinking fountain.
The 5-12 structure has a triple slide.
The play area is set back and down from the road.
Cons
There is very little shade.
There is no bathroom.
It is next to stream.
It’s great, generally quiet, but it is small, limited options for newly climbing toddlers, or not yet climbing toddlers. No toddler swings, no swings at all actually.
Quiet neighborhood park with a large play structure and plenty of grassy open space. There are a few picnic tables available, a water fountain, and an assortment of benches, but there is no restroom. The majority of the park sits well below street level so it may be difficult to find unless you know what you’re looking for. The park is open from 8 AM to Sunset everyday.
Love this park but needs some shade around structures. To hot to play there when there’s no clouds in the sky.
Beautiful wooded trails between Turnpike and Patterson. It feels like another world. Green and full of pretty trees. Nice pathways near residential neighborhoods. If it’s the right time of year, you’ll be lucky to have water in the creek bed. We were lucky. If you bring your dog, please keep on a leash and clean up after your dog, let’s keep this place pretty and safe for everyone.
