Marina Dog Park is a well-loved dog park in San Leandro, CA, located along the picturesque waterfront of Marina Park. Known for its beautiful bay views, welcoming breeze, and sandy play areas that stay relatively mud-free after rain, this park is a top local destination for dog owners looking for both exercise and relaxation. The park features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, making it safe and fun for dogs of all shapes and sizes to romp and play.
Visitors enjoy amenities such as agility equipment, benches, covered picnic tables, water fountains for both dogs and humans, and accessible paved paths next to the marina—great for pet-friendly walks. The surrounding park also includes a playground for kids, bathrooms, and workout zones, making it a perfect stop for the whole family. Please remember to keep the park clean and be mindful of dog behavior to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.
The view of the bay from this nicely equipped Dog Park is fantastic and the breezes are welcome on warm afternoons. The sandy ground can be a bit uncomfortable and now that it’s summer the dogs must be checked for foxtails and burrs when we get back to the car, but the park has both small and large dog sides and both have ample room for running after a well thrown ball. The water fountains are in good repair and the table provided to each side has shade for pet parents. The concrete agility equipment is fun for the dogs and is sturdy and also in good repair. I’d happily give a five star review but for the worry of a foxtail injury.
Great view right on the water edge with a large, flat park for dogs to run around in. Small cement structures and plastic/metal agility equipment for dogs to play on. Has a separate small dog enclosure. Often has weeds along the edges but the middle part stays clear. Multiple benches inside plus a covered picnic table. A drinking fountain for dogs and humans though it is so dirty on top I would not suggest a human drink from it. It’s a short walk from the parking lot and there are bathrooms by the playground there.
We went to the dog park today for a beagle meet up. This was my first time here.
The parking lot is kinda small for all of the activities available at this location. First off the dog park is down the trail. It’s a bit of a walk from the parking lot. It’s a nice walk, the trail is next to the ocean. The dog park has a large and small dog side. Both sides have water and doggie poop bags available.
This park has agility ramps and balance beams for the dogs to play with. The ground is dirt and crushed rocks. Not the greatest surface for dogs to run around on. There was a small patch of grass, but it was mostly weeds. The boys still had a good time.
Beautiful grounds! We enjoy that our dog can either get exercise in the designated dog play area or on the pavement paths around the marina. Love that it’s sand in the play area. Make a great option after rain since it’s porous and not muddy. Workout equipment and active areas for humans with a park for kids.
If you have a dog, just be a good citizen and clean up their poop. Also, mind your dog manners. We had a dog jump the fence from the path and immediately snap at our ironically docile 10 month old 90lb Rottweiler puppy and the owner was waaaayyyy too non-chalant about it. We’d met the dog before and were impressed by his athleticism. Today we were disappointed in this experience mainly because of the owners lack of response to our polite requests for him to come grab his dog.
(It’s the black dog with the white patch wearing the studded collar in the picture sniffing the creamy colored dog. The owner is a tall slim guy with long hair.)
But the park, aside from un-picked up poop, is awesome. A favorite in addition to Alameda Dog Park, Point Isabel, and Joaquim Miller Park.
This dog park is one of my top favorite parks when it comes to fenced dog parks. You have two sides, one for little dogs and the other one for big dogs. There’s doggie water fountains and doggie bags. You get a great view from the planes landing and also an amazing view of San Francisco!
