Discover Hart’s Dog Park, a cozy fenced haven right in the heart of downtown San Jose, California. This dog park stands out for its urban location on West Santa Clara Street, offering a shaded spot where your pup can play off-leash and socialize with other friendly dogs. The park features artificial turf, decorative murals, and plenty of seating options, making it a welcoming destination for local pet owners looking for a convenient dog-friendly space.
While most of the dogs here are larger breeds, small dogs are also regular visitors, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere ensures a positive experience for all. Pet parents appreciate the provided poop bags and waste stations, but it’s recommended to bring water for your dog, as there isn’t a dedicated drinking fountain on site. With well-lit surroundings and beautiful landscaping, Hart’s Dog Park is a great spot to unwind and let your dog run free in San Jose.
Cute little dog park in the heart of downtown. Well lit and maintained. It has a dog waste station, but people don’t use it, apparently.

Cute park in a shady spot in the middle of downtown San Jose. Most of the dogs are nice, mostly big dogs but I bring my small Havanese to this park and it’s usually fine. One thing is that it smells like dog poop even when owners picked the poop, the fake grass may need to be power washed because the smell is rancid.

I bring my buddies dog, Penny,an 8 month old lab here to play with the other dogs and tire her out. She loves it here. Also, whoever maintains the park, SHOULD INSTALL A WATER SYSTEM FOR THE DOGS. And the dispensary for the poop bags needs to be refilled regularly.

Right downtown on Santa Clara! I didn’t know what to expect. Turns out is is worth the 1.5 mile walk. Very nice, tiny, clean dog park with nice people and the dogs are great. I don’t know if they have water cause I always bring ours. You might want to bring water just in case. Sorry about the lousey shots, I really don’t do photography.
