Silver Creek Linear Park – Dog-Friendly Park in San Jose, CA

Silver Creek Linear Park in San Jose, CA, is a charming neighborhood park that offers a welcoming atmosphere for both dog owners and families. With actual grass (not weeds!), plenty of shade, open spaces, and a peaceful vibe, it’s popular with locals who want a relaxing green space to let their dogs run and play. While there isn’t a designated, official dog park section, the park is partially fenced and many visitors let their dogs off-leash during quiet hours. The open areas allow for pets to play fetch and socialize, while the semi-fenced playground areas help keep both kids and pups safe.

This dog-friendly spot features walking paths, shaded benches, picnic tables, and accessible restrooms. There are also public amenities like water fountains, barbecue grills, workout stations, and a pavilion for small gatherings or picnics. Families appreciate the nearby playground, accessible areas for wheelchairs, and the beautiful backdrop provided by mature oak trees and lush green lawns. It’s a peaceful alternative to busier dog parks in San Jose, with the bonus of being close to pet-friendly trails and other recreational spaces.

Nice small little park to go to for hanging our or playing some sports. There is a basketball court, 2 tennis courts and some large grass space where people like to set up nets for volleyball/badminton. There is also 4 stations for workouts around. There is a Pavillion for picnics, but roof is open so won’t protect from rain. It has 2 grill areas and bathroom near by. No way to reserve the pavillion…first come first served. Parking holds around 25 cars and plenty of street parking next to the parking lot.

Toddlers area, kids area, picnic tables, toilets and BBQs. All with a beautiful backdrop. Only negative is the noise from the nearby road.
