FAQ for Rancho Penãsquitos Linear Dog Park in San Diego California:
Awesome park with lots of room for the dogs to run and play
Took my gf and her dog to the park and was impressed with the other people there and their dogs. A nice area to let your dog run and play and get the exercise he needed. Could use a little more grass in the gated areas of the dog playground but a very nice atmosphere and friendly people admiring each other’s dogs. Walking distance from the apartment and right across the street the city library and police department and fire department. A block away is a Vons and shopping center and Circle K gas station. Great area to be in and a safe place to live in my opinion.
This is a “nice” Dog Park. Two separate, large fenced, off-leash areas for small and larger dogs. No water inside but a fountain is just outside the twin double gateways. Very basic … meaning there’s no lawn (despite the well maintained park lawn in the unfenced adjacent area to the north). At 6pm the dogs and people were all friendly.
Took my Louie, 12 yr old yorkshire terrier, on Valentine’s Day. There was a small dog side and big dog side. Everyone was really friendly and the dogs were having a good time. There is grass, a water bowl and benches to sit on. Needless to say, Louie had a great time!
Two sides to the park, 30 pounds or less, and 30 pounds and up. Pretty relaxed, most dog owners monitoring there dogs. Nice location near the library.
