Located conveniently near downtown, Pioneer Dog Park offers dog owners an urban oasis to let their pups play and socialize off-leash. The park is fully fenced and features a mix of mulch, grass, and gravel, providing spacious grounds where dogs can run, mix, and mingle. Ample shade from mature trees and a covered pavilion allow both pets and owners to relax even on warm summer afternoons. Dog waste bags and trash bins are provided, making it easy to keep the park clean, and water is usually available, though there have been occasional outages.
Pioneer Dog Park stands out for its friendly crowd, regular police patrols, and a few pieces of agility equipment for your furry friends. Owners will appreciate plentiful seating under tree canopies, while families can take advantage of the nearby playground, grassy hills, and picnic tables. While the park is not the largest in Salt Lake City, it remains a favorite for locals thanks to its cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and pet-friendly amenities.
Not the best not the worst. Poop bags and trashcan are provided. In the afternoon there is ample shade. The entire dog park is mulch. The little water faucet did work. The biggest downside is the people that hang around this park and the amount of smoke and weed you will smell. It’s not a place you wanna hang out for too long, but perfect for a potty spot.

Very spacious for my Ranger and he loved it! Didn’t like the guy who brought his pup in there. I asked him before entering if his pup was ok with other pups. He had ear bud’s in and didn’t care what my question was and let his pup in and he was aggressive towards my pup and I told him that he needed to take his pup out and that will be done with the park in about 10 minutes. And he took his pup out and I didn’t see him again after that. The man was really rude and disrespectful and didn’t care to hear what I was trying to ask!

The park itself was beautiful. We came for the dog park. Nice, fenced area with fresh water, lots of shade and Doggie Bags with disposal. But the bark layer used for groundcover is so course it hurt my medium sized dog’s feet. It is beautiful though. We enjoyed walking the grassy areas on leash.

Much nicer than the reviews would have you believe. There are a couple of homeless people wandering around but they weren’t bothersome. Decently large space, room enough to run around. The area is patrolled by police and felt perfectly safe
