🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Pitner Dog Park is the largest dog park in Salisbury, North Carolina, offering spacious, secure areas for your canine companions to play and socialize. This pet-friendly park features separate sections for small dogs (under 25 pounds) and large dogs (over 25 pounds), ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for pups of all sizes. The fully fenced park is equipped with water stations and provides free poop bags, making your visit convenient and enjoyable.
What sets Pitner Dog Park apart are its agility obstacles and dog activity equipment, perfect for training or simply letting your dog burn off energy. Pet owners can take part in dog classes offered during the day. While there are new-growth trees, the park currently offers little shade, so summer visitors may want to plan accordingly. For added family fun, the dog park is located next to a larger park with pet-friendly trails, outdoor exercise stations, a picnic area, and a children’s playground.
Great dog park. There are new growth trees in the park, but right now there’s very little shade. So have to judge timing of visit during summer, or dogs just don’t want to move.
Nice park, 2 sides, one for dogs under 25 pounds and the other for over 25 pounds.
This is the biggest dog park in Salisbury. It has a few obstacles that you can use to train. They also do dog classes during the day if you’re interested. It’s connected to a park that has trails with outdoor exercise stations, a picnic area, and a playground for the kids. My one big criticism. There’s no shade, it would be great if they could put up some kind of umbrella on the shared fence to help with that, but I think that requires donations.
Nice dog park! Separate areas for small and large dogs. Water & poop bags provided. Some dog activity equipment as well.
I just discovered this place today. We will definitely be back frequently. There was water and lots of poop bags. There was a fair amount of un-scooped poop that people had left. It would be great if the city would leave a bedding fork of some sort on the premises so feces could be scooped after the fact if necessary.
