Barkley Park offers dog owners in Salina, Kansas, a welcoming, pet-friendly space devoted entirely to the health and happiness of their animals. With three separate fenced-in areas, including dedicated spaces for small and larger dogs, this park is designed to cater to the unique needs of all canine companions. Locals appreciate the well-maintained grounds, abundance of balls and toys, and the supportive dog-loving community that frequents the park.
This dog park stands out with its walkable paths for owners, available water bowls for thirsty pups, a supply of waste bags and conveniently placed trash bins. While Barkley Park could use more shaded areas and benches, its clean, tidy reputation and animal-first amenities make it a great spot for pet parents seeking dog-friendly hiking, play, or socializing in Salina, KS. Plus, with many people leaving toys behind for others to use, it’s easy to visit without extra supplies.
Two areas for bigger dogs and 1 for smaller dogs, water bowls provided. Many people leave toys. Bags for disposal and trash cans. Benches are nice but could be more of them.
Excellent Dog Park with a great path for humans and lots of space for the dogs to run and explore
Wish they had more shade available but overall a decent little dog park for pups.
Great dog park with several choices of fenced parks, depending upon the size of the dog. Looks like the local people care about this park as it was clean and tidy with lots of balls and toys available to use while there.
This is such a good idea, I wish more towns had these type of pet-friendly areas that are strictly devoted to animals. There are 3 separate fenced-in portions that make up the park, and while it is called “Barkley Park”, there are numerous folks that bring their cats into one of the open areas that is not being used.
YES, you have to have cats on a leash as well, just the same for your canine companions, as it is a RULE.
I’ve even seen people bring their pet turtles, or lizards to run around. All in all its an awesome place that’s been here for years.
