Big and expansive. Lots of friendly dogs and owners visiting regularly. We stopped for a weekend in Salida with our golden retrievers, who loved the park. Lots of old toys and balls to fetch. A water station and we saw city employees empty trash bins twice during our three visits to the park. Good safe entrances. Large dirt parking lots. Lots of poop bag stations. Shaded areas and several benches.

Nice dog park near downtown Salida. Right off the main bike/walking trail. Lots of parking. Shelter provides shade and there’s a picnic table and bench for humans to enjoy. There are obstacle course devices and plenty of room to toss a ball for the dogs. They also have a separate small area for dogs that don’t want to worry about big dogs. Water is available.

We love our local dog park, and especially the consistently kind, friendly vibe of our neighbors, visitors and their dogs. When dog interactions get intense or aggressive, we try to work it out peacefully.
– If you’re stopping through, please help keep the space clean by picking up after your dog (bags and scoop provided).
– If visiting outside of summer months, the water may not be running, so join us in bringing a jug or two for the common bowls.
– If you bring a ball or toy, expect it might end up shared with others.

I love that this park has plenty of parking away from the main road. There ‘s two sections, one for dogs under 25 lb and one for dogs bigger than that. I didn’t see any doggy bags when I was there which made sense why I saw some corners filled with poop. Still. Overall a really nice dog park and one we will be stopping up again
