Love that dogs must be spayed/neutered at this park and that owners here seem to be better on their dogs than most parks. For the most part very nice people. I’ve encountered some idiots but that’s everywhere.

Warning: Dog Bite & Irresponsible Owner

On Aug 15, Toki, our Border Collie, was bitten by an aggressive pitbull. Our family has only been to this park a few times, and each visit had been positive—friendly people and even friendlier dogs. Unfortunately, we encountered an extremely irresponsible, reckless, negligent dog owner.

A white male (30-40s) allowed his pitbull to harass and bite our dog. She was happily playing fetch with her frisbee until the incident. At first, we thought the dog was just being nipping at her, but when Toki limped back to us, we saw she was bleeding profusely and had serious bite wounds. The pitbull owner left immediately—no apology, no information, nothing.

We had to carry her to our car and administer first aid before taking her to the vet. Locals offered comforting words but didn’t recognize him, so if anyone has any information, please contact me. This incident has left us shaken. Dog owners, please be cautious.

It is a very nice dog park, although lately the grass has had some rough spots and it would be nice if they put another water station for the dogs. As well as another bench in a shady place at the park.

We brought in a young cat that appeared to be a stray. We told the shelter that if they can’t find the owner we’d like to adopt her. They cleaned her up and spayed her and about a week and a half later she’s living in our home as a member of our family now. The employees at the shelter were efficient and great to work with and really work hard to find homes for all the animals!

I went to this dog park for the first time after driving by it many of times. My dog had a blast (but then again she is a dog). I liked it though. The area was well maintained, the dogs were friendly, and so were the people. It had a nice community feel. Many people knew other dogs’ names and chatted with other park goers. If it was closer to my house I would be a regular, unfortunately I am not so Spring and I will just have to visit whenever we are in the area.
