Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]

Located along the American River Parkway, Glenbrook Large Dog Park is a well-maintained and spacious dog park in Sacramento, CA, designed to give your furry friend plenty of room to roam, socialize, and play. This pet-friendly destination offers a large fenced area for bigger breeds and a separate section for small dogs, making it perfect for owners seeking a secure, off-leash environment tailored to their dog’s size and play style. Shaded areas and numerous seating spots provide comfort for both pets and owners, while the overall vibe is friendly and welcoming, attracting many local regulars.
The park features nice basic agility equipment for those looking to introduce their dogs to new challenges, ample grassy areas for fetch or running, and convenient access to additional pet-friendly trails for extended walks. While the park borders the freeway and baseball fields, the spacious layout, well-kept grounds, and polite community make up for any urban noise. Water stations and waste bins are available but may be limited in placement, so it’s wise to bring extra water just in case. Parking is generally easy except during baseball games, and additional family amenities like a playground are nearby.
Nice, roomy and plenty of trees to pee on. The owners are mindful, if not us dog owners gently remind them. During baseball season parking is harder to find closer the main entrance. There are entrances near the play ground.

The longest park by far in Sacramento for you and your dog(s) to run and play in. Plenty of space to spread out and some nice basic agility equipment if you are looking to introduce your dog to that! Well shaded with plenty of places to sit down. Can be a bit noisy as it shares a wall with the freeway and a fence line with the baseball fields. Overall the crowd of people that go there are really nice and I have only had once bad experience so far after almost 2 years of going there (it is unfortunately kind of inevitable though). I think the park could use better spacing on trash cans and fountains for the dogs, but overall we enjoy this place so much that those things are very small inconveniences.
