If you’re searching for a large, clean dog park in Sacramento, Cabana Dog Park is a great choice for local dogs and their owners. Conveniently located near Fremont Circle, this park offers a wide open space with a mix of sand and concrete surfaces, making it easy for pups to run and play at their own pace. The park’s proximity to a busy roadway means it may be louder than other spots, but it’s rarely crowded, so your furry friend can enjoy plenty of room to roam off-leash.
Cabana Dog Park is equipped with several helpful amenities including water stations, a dedicated dog wash/bathing area, benches and chairs for pet owners, and doggy bag dispensers. While there isn’t a dedicated small or large dog area, the park is fully fenced to keep your dog safe while they play. Please note that some regulars have noted mixed experiences with other dog owners, and recommend being cautious with dog introductions as there are no breed or size restrictions. Overall, this dog park in Sacramento is best suited to attentive pet owners seeking a convenient, open play space.
Great place, most people are great as well, though you have the one’s that feel they don’t need to clean up after their own dogs. We like it here.

The regulars that come to this park are oddly aggressive. I’ve seen fights almost break out because one dog was more high-energy than the other. The dogs were fine. The people weren’t. There’s one guy that wears a go pro like a body cam and records people. He got mad at me because my dog wanted to play with his… at a dog park. It’s fine if you want to go once, but if you start going regularly it gets weird. Super disappointing because this is the closest park to me. I’ll never go back.

It’s a very spacious park that is all sand / concrete. I’ve been here a handful of times and typically have the entire park to ourselves. It can be a little loud because it’s right next to a busy road. There’s water stations, bathing stations, benches/chairs, & doggy bags.
My concern with this park is that it’s not separated by small / large dogs and some owners are either oblivious or negligent. Today, my two small dogs were minding their own business when a woman arrived with a large golden doodle that was barking aggressively at the entrance. The woman still allowed her dog to come inside despite the preliminary display of aggression and the dog subsequently chased my dogs and became very aggressive. We immediately left.
It is a bummer that owners aren’t more responsible. The last thing I would want is to take my dogs to a park and have them be attacked because of someone’s negligence. Suffice it to say, we won’t be returning.

Pretty good park, fairly large, usually not too crowded and there are usually poo bags available which RULES. If you have a dog who’s lower to the ground check their eyes after visiting the park as one of mine got a bit of gravel in their eye. Could’ve been a freak accident though.
