Rutland Dog Park

Rutland Dog Park is a welcoming, wheelchair-accessible dog park located near a hospital parking lot in Rutland, VT. It features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, providing a safe environment for all sizes. The park has grassy areas, benches, and a small shade structure on the large-dog side, although more shade could be beneficial during hot weather. Poop bags and trash bins are provided, but there is no water fountain. The entrance is easy to find by following a short walking loop from the parking lot. The park offers a quiet setting with friendly visitors and a natural environment with some muddy areas that could benefit from crushed stone.

It is a great place, it would be much better if crushed stone was placed in the muddy areas. Our shoes, boots were covered with mud and the dogs paws. Otherwise a terrific place.
Hard to find. Just park at the hospital and look for the loop walking path…the dog park can be seen from this loop trail. There were no other dogs while we were there which is exactly what we wanted. Our pup was able to get out the zoomies without worring that there might be an aggressive dog loose there.
Great dog park. There’s usually no other dogs there. In the large dog area be careful as there’s a portion of the fence that is broken and large enough for a large dog to slip out.
UPDATED: I’m finally seeing other doggos at this park! The only thing missing at this place is a little more shade for the dogs while they’re playing in the summer heat.
For those looking for this dog park: make a right in the first hospital entrance on Allen St (the one that is directly across from the school) and park in the first parking lot on the right. In the back corner (near the electric car charging stations) of THAT parking lot is a very short walking loop. Take that loop around, and you won’t be able to miss this dog park.
I provide directions because I hope to continue seeing some other dogs there! There’s a lovely fenced in area for big dogs and another for small dogs with poop bags provided for your convenience. It’s a little gem of a place and could use more well-behaved visitors 🙂
Located a bit down the walking path from the parking lot, this park is with grassy benches scattered around and a small shade structure on the large-dog side
Separate areas for large and small dogs. Friendly people! Bags and trash, bit no water.
