Cool Springs Park is a must-visit stop for anyone traveling through Rowlesburg, West Virginia along Route 50. While not a traditional dog park, it’s a pet-friendly outdoor attraction featuring shady picnic areas, interesting antique tractors, rail cars, and even some farm animals to see. With seating areas and open space, it’s a great spot for dog owners to take a break, stretch their legs, and enjoy the outdoors with their pets.
Beyond the fun collection of vintage equipment and quirky roadside appeal, Cool Springs Park offers scenic, dog-friendly opportunities to walk around and explore its grounds. Although there is no fenced dog area or dedicated off-leash zone, leashed pets are welcome to accompany their owners. Shady spots and covered areas provide shelter for guests, making this a comfortable, family and pet-friendly rest stop. The historic charm, combined with convenience features like a general store and eatery, set this destination apart for travelers with dogs.

I LOVED this place!! My fiance took me there to show me a place he has been to many times in his life!! It was like stepping back in time! The U shaped 50’s counter was awesome!! We had one of their famous foot long hot dogs!! It was great! Then we walked around a bit to see all the antique tractors and farm equipment. They also had a few farm animals!! Pretty little place to stop and check out!!

This is the coolest store, gas station and deli. Stopped by for a look. Had lunch. Chili and grilled cheese 🤤. Best tasting hamburger I’ve had in a long time 😋. Very nice coworkers. Love these places. It’s what America is all about.

A great stopping point on route 50. You can buy gas, use the facilities, have a cold drink and a meal at the counter restaurant inside, and shop for all sorts of things. Shakes, sundaes and soft serve ice cream are available for a treat. Nice place to rest on a long drive. Great shady picnic tables. Covered bridge. Antique tractors and rail cars for kids to climb on.

This is a great stop and relax place when traveling on route 50. The wonderful collection of train cars, steam engines, and farm machinery is like a free museum you can touch and explore. My sons always loved to stop here and check it all out!
