A nice quiet spot. I actually got locked in the parking lot. There is no signage for the park hours. I came up with a number to call off the parks website they came out within 10 minutes to let me out. They were very apologetic about the matter and said it should have never happened because there are one way spiked strips on the exit lane!

I wouldn’t consider this a destination point. It’s got its name from the single large pepper tree growing there. This is just a small two-block long park across from small industrial and storage businesses, separated from the bay and Rodeo marina by actively used railroad tracks. I’ve used it for very short dog walks and for parking when there are busy events at the nearby Four Fools Winery.

Beautiful two mile walk along the bay

Starting from Lone Tree Point parking lot in Rodeo, the trail goes south-west through Pinole Bayfront Park until it dead ends just past Point Wilson. Basically 4.5 miles each way on paved and mostly flat trail with beautiful views of San Pablo Bay, Mare Island and Vallejo. Great for kids, dogs on leash or brisk walking.

That tugboat wreck is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen, and it makes for a fun sight the times I’ve run there. I haven’t checked out the restaurant but it seems nice.
Overall it’s a pretty chill spot.
