Located near the YMCA on Technology Drive, the Rocky Mount Community Dog Park offers a convenient spot for local pet owners seeking a dedicated dog park in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The park features fenced, double-gated areas that allow dogs to run and play off-leash while staying safe. Divided sections cater to both small (under 30 lbs) and larger dogs, ensuring a comfortable experience for dogs of all sizes. A couple of benches are available (though located outside the fenced areas) and the park provides a drinking fountain for both humans and pets. A nearby paved trail through the woods adds a great option for pet-friendly hiking and further exploration after some playtime.
While the park is relatively new and growing in popularity, reviews note the lack of ample shade and the need to leave the fenced area to access water and seating. Still, having a fenced space for dogs to socialize and exercise off-leash is a valued addition to the Rocky Mount community. Mud may be present after rain, so be prepared for potential wet conditions. The combination of open play, nearby trails, and thoughtful division between dog sizes make this a unique dog-owner destination in Rocky Mount, VA.

Personally, I think this dog park is great. At least there is a dog park where you can let your dog off the leash and run around without having to worry about it. I went after a heavy rain and it was a little muddy but my dog got very little dirt on him. He enjoyed it, and that was all that mattered.

It’s better than nothing, I guess. The water is located outside the gated areas, so you have to exit just to fill up a bowl. There are no trees for shade, so I imagine this park will go unused during the summer. The benches are also located outside the fence- whoever thought that was a good idea needs to look for a new line of work.
This is a really poorly thought out dog park.
This dog park just opened near the YMCA on Technology Drive in Rocky Mount. Only 2 dogs were there this morning as it was the very first day it has been open. The gated area for dogs is divided, one area for dogs less than 30 lbs and the other area for larger dogs. There are a couple of benches available, a drinking fountain plus a separate water fountain for the dogs!
A paved trail is nearby that wanders through the woods. Very nicely done.
