Narragansett Trail Trailhead is a popular dog-friendly destination in Rockville, Rhode Island, offering scenic pet-friendly trails and a spacious open dog park. Known for its beautiful views of Long Pond and El Pond, the area features diverse landscapes including hemlock forests, oak woods, and picturesque ravines. Dog owners appreciate the expansive, well-maintained grounds for allowing their pets to roam freely and socialize, making it a local favorite for outdoor adventures with your canine companion.
The park provides a large, open field for dogs to play, but does not have separate areas for small and large breeds. While there is ample space for dogs to run off-leash, visitors should note the lack of double-gated entry and dedicated small-dog sections. It is recommended to monitor pets closely, especially during busy times, to ensure safety for all companions. Parking is available but the dirt road leading in can be rough, so drive carefully. Hiking opportunities abound, with challenging, dog-friendly hiking trails accessible right from the trailhead.
