Located in the heart of Rockaway, NJ, Rockaway Jackson Ave River Park is a tranquil riverside escape beloved by locals and their four-legged friends. This scenic dog-friendly park features gentle paths along the river, stunning views of passing trains, and ample spots to relax amidst nature. Dog owners appreciate the park for its peaceful ambiance and the unique opportunity for their pups to splash around by the water on warm days.
Whether you’re seeking a quick stroll on pet-friendly trails, a place to unwind with a picnic, or a destination for dog-friendly outdoor activities, this Rockaway dog park is an excellent option. Anglers often frequent the area for trout and sunnies, and families enjoy the picnic tables, benches, and small playground adjacent to the park. Bring your leashed pet and enjoy a relaxing outing in one of Rockaway Borough’s favorite natural spaces!
Went to this park for my son high school soccer match. The field is ok. Very all and cozy. I can definitely see my kids playing around the small playground while not being too far away from me.
Very nice to fishing here and relax
The park itself is quite small but if you love you fish it is a decent area to find sunnies and the occasional trout upstream past the main street bridge or downstream past the overhead train tracks.
This is one of my favorite spots in Rockaway Borough! It’s a perfect place to sit peacefully and listen to the water and magical moments that mother nature is offering. You may get lucky and catch the little train crossing over, too. I like to stop here and drop a line in for some trout in the spring as I fish the local area. There are picnic tables and benches to have lunch and chill out for a bit. This spot is also where my dog Bosco loves to go sniff and splash around on a hot summer day!
This has become one of my favorite places in the county to relax. While the county offers a lot of escapes, this park offers a variety of perspectives from the river to train tracks and small paths nearby for a mini stroll. Don’t forget the countless wildlife that flock here and as a rail fan, the freight train that passes through here.
