Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Brown Square Park is a spacious and welcoming green space in the High Falls area of Rochester, New York. Known for its beautiful large trees, open lawns, and variety of activities, it’s perfect for dog owners looking for a pet-friendly park. This park is wheelchair accessible, features plenty of picnic tables, and is good for both kids and pets. The large open grounds provide plenty of space for walking dogs, enjoying a picnic, or participating in local events.
While the park has ample space for dogs and outdoor activities, it’s important to note that there are currently no fenced or designated off-leash dog areas. The park is well-used for community events, including those supporting animal shelters, and it generally receives regular maintenance. Whether you’re looking for a spot for pet-friendly trails in Rochester, or a place to relax under shady trees with your pup, Brown Square Park is an excellent urban escape for dog lovers.
The grounds at the park needed to be cleaned up a little bit the picnic tables, but the rest of the grounds were nice. The music 🎶 at the event by the dj was pretty good and the loca live performances were amazing especially by comedian Yolanda Smilez. She even had people from the audience up on stage participating. We were in stitches laughing 🤣🤣🤣.
They were handing out bookbags and school products for the children of the community. Balloons and happiness were in huge supply. Great to see the people come out and be served.
Great event today at the park Fast & the Furriest to benefit the Verona Street Animal shelter. They do such important work for unwanted and lost animals.
Very nice kinda unknown park in High Falls area. Beautiful large trees and a nice shared park. Could use some cleaning up in the garden that have become overgrown.
This is a very large park in the City that has ample room for a variety of activities, but lacks some crucial features. When we visited in mid-June, it was clear the park gets regular maintenance. At mid-morning on a Tuesday, there were a handful of people using the park – a runner, a dog-walker, a sunbather, and a bunch of people eating lunch. There is ample space for athletic activities, but sadly, there is no play structure. There are a ton (like a LOT) of picnic tables, but not a barbecue in sight! This park would attract more families if it had a place for kids to play and a way to cook food.
