While the main attraction is the picturesque hike along the river, families also appreciate the picnic spots, occasional farm animals, and proximity to the city’s beloved cider mill with fresh donuts and cider. Whether you’re out for a quiet stroll or seeking a new place to walk your dog in Rochester Hills, Yates Cider Mill Trail offers a relaxed outdoor experience in all seasons.
The trail was very nice. It was very long with plenty of walking space.
The best cider mill in Metro Detroit.
The river is over flowing from all the rain and is moving at rapid speeds. If you kayak down the river you wouldn’t have to even paddle. The water does flow out onto the trail in sections but the trails are still nice. The main trail is wide and a flat easy walk. You can go on the off shoots for more adventures.
Yates hands down has the best donuts. There’s always a long line for them because they’re the best! The paved trail is nice, but even better is the trail right next to the creek. Just make sure you have shoes with good grip. We visit this cider mill at least once a year.
My all time favourite spot….we stay near to this in cidermill village apartments….In summer I make sure to visit every week…I love the sound of Clinton river and the ducks and birds chirping….the trail is clean and well maintained….donuts and apple cider are really fresh and picnic spots are also there…kids will enjoy this as they will organize some farm animals to feed
