FAQ for Hog Back Gap in Robbinsville North Carolina:
Clearly marked trailhead with parking. It took us 15 minutes to hike to the falls. I would suggest hiking boots and definitely not any kind of open-toed shoes because of the many exposed tree roots and rocks along the trail. Especially as you get closer to the falls. There’s a part of the trail that forks off and continues above the falls, but not much to see up there. Anyone with dogs, please completely pick up after your animal. We saw where people had left used poop bags off to the side of the trail.
Mid level hike cause of some stairs and incline. Short and sweet. Even kids can do it. Beautiful waterfall and flowing creek. Wonderful experience and luckily it wasn’t packed. Can bring you swimming trunks and hop in at the waterfall.
Loved this beautiful place- a short hike up with beautiful stops by the creek to pop out at the waterfall which is gorgeous! For most the trail is very doable, if rocks and roots are difficult I would reconsider. Would definitely visit again. There is a small parking area at the trailhead which was convenient.
