Nestled in the scenic Nantahala Gorge, the Appalachian Trail section near Robbinsville, NC offers dog owners access to beautiful, natural pet-friendly trails. With breathtaking mountain views, abundant wildlife, streams, and riverside camping spots, this area is ideal for dog-friendly hiking and exploring the great outdoors together. Campgrounds along the trail feature picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and easy access to Joyce Kilmer National Forest, making it a memorable spot for families and their pets.
While the area is renowned for its scenery and camping amenities, note that trail condition can vary, and some sections may be overgrown with limited signage.
