County Line Trail is a peaceful, pet-friendly trail spanning over seven miles through the scenic farmland and gently rolling fields of Rittman, Ohio. This trail is perfect for dog owners seeking a safe and quiet environment to walk their dogs, away from speeding traffic and city noise. The trail is well-maintained, paved for most of the way, and offers easy accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers, making it suitable for families as well as their furry companions.
What makes County Line Trail unique is its serenity—it’s rarely crowded, especially in the early mornings, offering a tranquil setting for those looking to enjoy dog-friendly hiking or nature walks with their pets. The trail is surrounded by native wildflowers and mature trees, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. While there is minimal shade on the path, the flat terrain and scenic views make this trail a favorite for local dog walkers and outdoor enthusiasts in the Rittman area.
Quiet, flat, peaceful, and very nice scenery. I recommend either early morning or evening rides because there is hardly any shade on this 6 mile bike path.
Very pleasant ride through gently rolling farm fields. Well maintained asphalt trail. Rich with native wildflowers & plants. Bradley’s restaurant & Depot restaurant on the trail route.
Great space to walk my dog and be worry free from speeding traffic. Very peaceful and quiet in the early morning hours. Very much like trying to identify the different trees along the trail, as well as the flowers. Been here just under a month have only seen rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks—hope to find other wildlife. I know there are skunks about, just haven’t seen them yet!!
A trail of just over seven miles is a ‘country’ delight. Brought back wonderful memories of how life should be…simple and enjoyable.
Nice paved trail for the most part but there is about a mile of on road riding. Very scenic farmland along the route. Too bad no good destination restaurants , breweries or wineries would be ideal for this.
