FAQ for Roy Hayer Park in Rio Linda California:
Just a small, quiet out-of-the way park tucked away nexxt to Rio Linda HS. and Dry Creek. There’s no playground for kids to play in and every time I’m there the restrooms are locked. It’s a good little park though if you want to relax.
Chill lil park right next to a high school, bathrooms are never open, closes at a certain time, right next to the bmx track and trail. Thanks for taking the time to read my short review😎
Nice, large area for big dogs. Great water station with options for drinking and filling bowls. It’s very dusty and my boy definitely needed a rinse when we got home. He was super happy to get to run off leash though. Worth it!!
This is a great dog park in south Natomas. I went there instead of my usual location with my golden and the dogs and owners were friendly and there was easy street parking. It’s part of a larger big green park. Unfortunately the dogs park is dirt but it’s nicely sized and has a small and large dog area.
Very nice little park. You can walk down by the stream in the summertime. And has a baseball field and restrooms.
Nice park in Natomas with plenty of green – somewhat faded now that fall is near – a playground, ping pong tables and a spacious dog park. The trees in the center provide shade without blocking all sunlight. Something for everybody.Several month after writing the initial review I am adding one star. The park is really nice and well balanced with large grassy areas and beautiful light trees in the center that provide shade while still allowing some sunlight to reach the ground. The playground is clean and well accepted by the local little ones.
It’s a childhood memory “Old Man Hayer” used to shoot rock salt at my brother and I as we crossed his property and both creeks illegally. It’s an absolutely wonderful place to go it’s isolated it’s a big park it has a baseball diamond it backs up against the high school so there’s no lack of space or things to do. Has a very large pedestrian bridge it goes across the creek, and the entire park looks rather wilderness easy to enjoy the calm serene area because there really is no traffic
A problem I have for most youth ball parks. Spectator viewing is always hard to reasonably come by. This ball park is no different. The meager wooden bleachers 5 benches high looks like a full crowd would break it. The placement is facing right and center fields. Two chain link walls separate spectators from the bleachers from seeing the batters box. On hot days the dugout is shaded with black curtains and pop ups making viewing from behind impossible. An extra high wooden back stop makes seating and viewing from behind the backstop impossible. The only reasonable viewing is from left or right field foul zones.Parking is decent but not extensive. The field is in the immediate flight path of a nieghboring light aircraft runway. Planes come in irregularly at 200′.The field is decently maintained but not a spot for tournaments.
We had so much fun in the creek
