The D&L Trail Riegelsville Trailhead offers a peaceful escape for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts in Riegelsville, Pennsylvania. This pet-friendly trail meanders along scenic forest, creek, and historic canal views, providing an ideal spot for dog walking, running, or biking. With its largely flat and well-maintained paths, the area is welcoming for all ages and fitness levels. Visitors love the calm atmosphere, marked trails, and the chance to experience nature, wildlife, and seasonal events.
While not a traditional fenced dog park, dogs can enjoy beautiful, well-marked trails that pass through shaded woods and near water features. The parking area is small and may fill up, especially on weekends, but nearby overflow parking is available. Benches and picnic spots are available, and there are informational signs about local wildlife and trees. Friendly locals, minimal crowds on weekdays, and easy access to nearby cafes and restaurants make this trailhead a favorite for Riegelsville dog owners. Please note: dog owners are asked to clean up after pets, and some visitors report seeing off-leash dogs, though leashes are recommended for safety.
Good trail friendly people and many places to stop rest and eat.
Quiet section of the D&L, going south from Riegelsville. Meanders along, going back and forth from double-track to single-track. Very little elevation change, so it’s an easy ride or walk. Not quite as many sights to see as if you were going north into Easton, but it has its moments. The trail is closed about 6 miles south of town, so good for a quick spin. Several cute restaurants around the trailhead.
Went south on the trail from Riegelsville this time and it was awesome! Not the longest ride since part of the trail is out so after about 6-7 miles you have to turn around, but beautiful ride. Came upon an adorable farm set up for pumpkin season which was an added bonus. You can access Ringing Rocks from this trail, but we decided to save that excursion for another time. Had appetizers and drinks at the Riegelsville Inn afterwards. Top notch. Look forward to taking this section of trail again!
