FAQ for Old Trace Park in Ridgeland Mississippi:
Beautiful view of the reservoir. Would like more accessibility to the walking trail near the shore from the parking lot near the recreational center. Steps to lower level could use some cleaning.
Really beautiful dog park next to a huge reservoir. My dog shockingly jumped into the resevoir and had a scare cause it’s so deep and he couldn’t pull himself out of the water. He yelled like I was killing when I tried to pull his arms. A sweet little girl helped and I was so thankful as I did not want to have to jump in. So be careful if you go to the dog park.
Love this little dog park. It’s shady and hilly and keeps my busy sheltie getting lots of exercise. Have went there 4 times now and I live in Louisiana. We like different locations and also like the reservoir.
Old Trace Park is one of the best outdoor spots in the area. Whether you’re there to grill, walk the lakeside trail, or just relax under one of the gazebos, there’s something for everyone. The disc golf course is a fun bonus, and the dog park makes it super convenient for pet owners. It’s also a great place for photography, especially around sunset, and there’s usually just enough breeze to fly a kite. The view over the reservoir is always peaceful. Definitely a go-to park for a relaxing day outside.
Perfect place for a walk, quiet day/eve, date, play, family day, you name it. Geese, walking trail, plenty of shaded spaces, and LOTS OF ROOM for everyone. I had my birthday picnic at Old Trace and it was beautiful
