If you’re searching for a dog park in Ridgefield, NJ, please note that Superfood Marketplace at 543 Shaler Blvd is actually a grocery store and not a pet-friendly park or dog run. While the location is convenient for quick shopping needs in Ridgefield, it does not offer dog-related amenities, off-leash areas, or pet-friendly trails.
This supermarket is appreciated for its accessibility and recently renovated space, though customers have noted higher prices and certain customer service concerns. For families or shoppers near Ridgefield seeking a dedicated dog park, you will need to look elsewhere in Hudson or Bergen County for facilities with off-leash areas or dog-focused amenities.

I recently visited this supermarket just to grab a simple drink, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. As soon as we entered, one of the employees — without a greeting or any courtesy — told my son he had to leave his backpack at the entrance due to “policy,” while pointing at the doorway.
I politely asked for clarification, as I’ve never encountered a supermarket with such a rule. Instead of providing a clear explanation, the employee continued insisting we leave the backpack without offering any legitimate reason. Wanting to avoid further confrontation, we complied.
After getting my drink and heading to the checkout, I asked the employee if she was the manager, to which she simply replied “no.” The lack of professionalism and basic customer service was disappointing. If a store enforces an unusual policy like that, the least they can do is explain it respectfully and clearly to customers.
Policies aside, customer service should never come with an attitude. This experience has left a bad impression.

Experience and location is over all good. Staff is nice. Only problems is the meat section. Specially ground beef. But otherwise it’s good.

As soon as you walk in there is a strong strange over powering smell, my family member got half and half from there a couple days ago I go to open it to make sure the half and half was ok and immediately all I could smell was the smell from the store on the outside of the carton not only that but it transferred to my hand, don’t know if this is from a chemical being sprayed in the store or what. Also things are often left on shelves past the expiration date and sometimes there is mold on the bread products. None of the cashiers speak English, my mother and I had an issue and thankfully a customer was able to translate even though the issue wasn’t resolved. How do you not have at least one English speaking cashier or customer service person there at all times? And yes the prices are ridiculous! My family chooses to go there for one or two things if it’s something needed right away but I refuse to shop there anymore and have told my family members to go elsewhere

I have mixed feelings about this supermarket, because although it’s the closet one to my house, it is helpful to have for quick things, but I don’t think grocery shopping for an entire week or so is smart since the prices are high.
Most of the staff are kind and considerate, especially the younger cashiers~
However, there’s a specific person that when she works she is usually in the office, even after waiting a couple minutes at the register to check out, she won’t notice so you might have to go and ask her to come over… If the work is important, maybe find a way to know when a customer is waiting for you?
