Spoiled frozen durian made me sick — very disappointed this time.
I’ve been shopping at the H Mart Ridgefield for a long time and have always trusted the quality of their products — but this time was really disappointing.
Yesterday I bought a frozen whole durian from this store. After defrosting and eating a few pieces at night, I became seriously sick — vomiting, sweating, and having stomach pain all night. It was clearly spoiled.
I didn’t eat anything else that evening, so the durian was definitely the cause. I even couldn’t go back to the store within 24 hours for a return because I was too sick.
I’m very disappointed that such a product could be sold in a store I used to trust. I hope H Mart can take responsibility and make sure this doesn’t happen to other customers.
I bought two packs of salmon head yesterday evening. My home is near hmart 7 min driving. I smelled bad odor when I unpack one of the salmon. It was gone really bad. I went back to hmart. There was a korean woman and a man who smelled it and confirm spoiled salmon. I didn’t get single word of apology or sorry word from them. She just issued a refund and gave it me. I felt really uncomfortable. Bad customer service.

This review is aimed at only the food court. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a separate place to leave a for them. The food court used to have a water cooler but that was removed. Fine, it was a nice thing but you should buy your own drinks. The cash register area is very shabby very subpar. We spent ? on noodles, fried chicken etc. I went to the chicken place for a to go container, I was directed to go to the register to buy a container. Buy? The container was 50 cents, and of course followed by a ? minimum credit card amount. Why do this? Provide the full service, don’t give half effort service but want to get paid for proper service. This isn’t the first time. But we will not come back to this food court until they change their practices

I asked one of the employees if they sell a particular product. This employee barely spoke English. I don’t speak Korean, so there was a miscommunication. She told me which aisle to find the product, but I was asking about a specific item in the aisle that the employee was talking about. Finally, the employee told me to go to customer service 🙄.
There are certain products that I can find at this location that I can’t find at the Paramus HMART. I think I’ll continue shopping at the Paramus location due to better customer service until I’ll feel the need to get whatever product(s) this location sells.
