Located at 58 Prospect Ridge, Bark Park Dog Park is a beloved destination for dog lovers in Ridgefield, Connecticut. This fully fenced dog park offers three separate areas: one for large dogs, one for small dogs, and a versatile fenced space for dogs that prefer solitude or have special needs. The park features ample shade thanks to numerous trees and gazebos, and paved walking circles make it accessible and comfortable for both dogs and their owners.
The park is known for its relaxing atmosphere, pet-friendly rules, and helpful amenities. There is a large, free parking lot as well as wheelchair-accessible entrances and paths, making it an inclusive choice. During the warmer months, water spigots provide fresh water for pups. Owners appreciate the availability of seating, covered shady spots, and the well-maintained areas for both exercise and socializing. If you’re searching for an easily accessible, dog-friendly space in Ridgefield with thoughtful features and plenty of room to roam, Bark Park Dog Park is an ideal choice.
What a great place! Absolute must no matter the dog you have. Big dog area, small dog area and even separate areas for those dogs that prefer to be separate.
Good dog park. Only complaint is the few times I’ve gone there either aren’t many people, they leave quick (like less than 15 minutes), they seem like they don’t want their dogs really playing, or all of the above. There were a few exceptions in my experience but I’ve only been here a little so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt
As of the beginning of June 2025, it’s closed for renovations, apparently
Overall the park is lovely. There are 2 separate sides. On the large side there is plenty of shade provided by numerous trees + a gazebo. On the small side shade is provided by 1 tree + a gazebo. During most of the year, water spigots provide potable water. During colder months the water supply is shut down to prevent the pipes from freezing. Both sides have a paved walking circle inside the metal fencing.
Although doggie bags are provided, I suggest you bring your own just-in-case. There is major construction going on in the lot adjacent to the park which, on occasion, can be quite noisy. Some dogs have. Been put of by that. But it’s not often.
Please remember to keep your dogs leashed as you walk them inside the gates. The usual criteria: no dogs in heat, no aggressive dogs/people, no choke collars, et.c. There is a large sign indicating the specifics.
Basically, a lovely place to spend some time while your dog can socialize.
Very large park with big free parking and lots of variety for the doggies, both small and large with 3 separate fenced areas, one for small, one for big and one that could be for special needs. which is perfect for dogs that dont get along, so they can be completely alone but still run freely! Very nice big dog park!!!
Great dog park; 3 gated areas for different types of dogs. All owners have been good about following the rules so far.
