This metro park has so much to offer. Trails, bike paths, picnic areas, nature center….I went to see the canopy walk. It was an amazing experience. The weather was perfect and not too crowded. Being 40 feet above the ground and up in the tree tops was breathtaking. Don’t be scared by the photos of the stairs because there is also an elevator you can take to the top! Hurry to go and experience this before all the leaves fall!

We haven’t been here in years and hadn’t visited the canopy walk yet. We walked a trail, went to the nature center and did the canopy walk. We had a 3 year old with us and she absolutely loved the nature center! They have a place to put on a puppet show, a place to sit and watch nature, turtles and snacks and fur pelts to see. They have a fire pit area, a tractor to play on and a natural play area. The canopy walk is very cool. They have an elevator so young kids and elderly can take park too. The views up there are pretty scenic. They offer plenty of parking and lots of trails you can walk and hike. The park rangers were around too which was nice to see. They also had signs with the park rangers phone number on them so you knew exactly how to reach them if you needed help.

I actually liked this metro park. It is very accessible. They have numerous pavilions and restrooms, kids play areas, a giant canopy structure with stairs and an elevator. Large parking areas with trail heads nearby and the trails are hard packed. Seemed well monitored by the park rangers and even though it was busy it was not congested.

It’s an incredible park, it’s a very large area to naturalize, with many paths that connect you to all areas of the park, the area of the elevated walkways are spectacular, I definitely highly recommend it to go with families.

Yesterday, the park celebrated it’s one year anniversary. They had kids games, activities and three food trucks. The staff was very friendly and it’s a beautiful park worth the visit, with a handful of options for different walking paths.
