Park where you see other cars, cross up and over the railroad tracks and you will see the trail going straight up the mountain beside a creek. When you hit the waterfall, hang a right and make it to several bluffs overlooking the Hiawassee river. The trail is unmarked, but worn so you can tell where to go.

I liked this short hike, didn’t see anyone on it the entire way..you have to park then cross the tracks to get to the trailhead that is not marked, Beautiful water with rapids all along the road..narrow in many spots..I am glad I didn’t bring my dog..not suitable for young children..great views..very short..30 minutes to the top..pretty much an incline the entire way..one small area in the beginning with some water trickle wouldn’t call it a waterfall though..several lookouts.

I think the Starr mountain bluff trailhead also goes to these bluffs. At least that’s what the location said on my GPS. Great place to explore! I will definitely be going back, next time more prepared because the hike is steep and rocky. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the Hiwassee River.

If you’re coming to this trail be prepared to do some climbing. There are no trail markers either. This is a moderate to hard trail with about as much climbing up the rocky incline as hiking. It is short, but steep most of the way. There are several locations that traverse close to the sheer face edge. All that being said, the views are spectacular. I wouldn’t recommend this trail for small children or the elderly.

Definitely not for beginners! It’s a uphill mountainous climb/hike. It’s worth the hike though. Absolutely beautiful place.
