BARC Park

BARC Park is a well-maintained and welcoming dog park featuring separate areas for small and large dogs, making it suitable for dogs of all sizes. It has a strong community atmosphere where dog owners support each other. The park is wheelchair accessible with appropriate parking and offers amenities like picnic tables and a baseball field. Although parking can be challenging during football season, the park is popular for its spacious layout and clean environment. Regular maintenance keeps the grass manageable and there are plenty of dog waste bags available. Dogs are allowed off-leash, providing a safe space to play and socialize.

The park is large, but where most dogs end up congregating is near the gate and it is just a big mud pit. I would have to bathe my dog every time I take him to the park. Not worth it.
Today was my first visit since we had actually signed up to be part of this part. Outlaw had a blast it was a little too humid for his liking so he got lazy pretty quick and we weren’t there more than 15 minutes. I will say though I can’t wait to go back again with him this was our first time and environment where other dogs were and he did super awesome he played and even drink out of the same water bowl. The park itself was very nice! The grass was cut, plenty of dog bags and lots of space for roaming.
Wonderful place to bring your dogs. Separated area for larger and smaller dogs. Lots of room for dogs to run.
The BARC Park is amazing. Totally worth the small annual fee. They have a large (+30 lbs.) and small dog park, so whatever your furry friend’s size, there’s a place for you. Our pup is classified as small, so she can go into either park, which we do, depending on which park has pups in it. Don’t worry: she’s got “big dog” energy.
We started going and the other fur-parents made us feel right at home. Rarely, if ever, is the park in a bad condition. Although the grass can get a little high in the summer, it’s no worse than walking around the neighborhood. The Baltimore County staff keeps the park in reasonable shape considering the large size.
The only downside is parking. The lot is dedicated for BARC Park members, but other people have a tendency to take over the parking for other events in the area. Not sure what, if anything, can be done there short of having the vehicles towed away. This is only a problem during football season and only after school hours. It’s an inconvenience, but not a deal breaker.
The application process has gotten even easier with a new website and quick approval process. We plan on signing back up in February (the year for the park runs Feb-Jan) for another year of fun for our little one.
This place has such a great community of people. They have really helped me learn how to be a better dog mama. The area is well kept and everyone is good about picking up after their pup. It’s my fur babies favorite place… I imagine it’s like Cheers for canines.
