Torch River Ridge Nature Preserve

Torch River Ridge Nature Preserve is a peaceful 295-acre forested area near the Torch River with 4.5 miles of well-marked, looped hiking trails. It is ideal for birdwatching, jogging, walking, and exploring nature with dogs on leash. The preserve offers quiet, serene woods with some elevation and sufficient parking at the trailhead. It is a kid-friendly natural area but has no built facilities.

Torch River Ridge Preserve is a Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy property that has well marked and maintained hiking trails with many loops to choose from. With 295 acres this thickly forested ridge system near the Torch River is an excellent location for birdwatching. The 4.5 miles of trails offer great hiking in a peaceful forest. No facilities. Free. Dogs must be on leash.
