Very beautiful and large lake with many beaches, views, and hikes. I love taking KY paddle board out there. You can also rent a boat and find cliffs and beaches.

Biat traffic can be very high on weekends and holidays so please be cautious. Parking can also be busy so plan accordingly.

So many trails and you can’t go wrong with any of them. It’s a matter how far you want to go.

Does not have a great parking or starting place besides the side of the street. Trail is good, up and down, white marker on trees is helpful. Would be great if there was a mileage or map, anywhere.

Visiting Raleigh on a trip and stopped here to get some steps in. The trail is easy to follow and beautiful nature. It is difficult in that there are many roots that protrude out the ground for almost the entirety so beware of that. I came at dusk and wish I would have had more time to explore before it became too dark and I needed to turn around. Also, there is no official place to park so you have to pull off and park on the road.

This is a great place for a walk in the woods. It’s right next to the Annie Wilkerson Nature Preserve. Some of the trails connect with the Mountains to Sea Trail. Plus, it’s a short drive if you’re in North Raleigh.
