🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Buffaloe Road Dog Park is a popular and spacious spot for dog owners in Raleigh, NC. This dog-friendly park features separate, fenced areas for both large and small dogs, making it easy for pets of all sizes to run and play safely off-leash. The park is known for its welcoming community of dog lovers and offers plenty of benches for owners to relax while their pups socialize and exercise.
Located within a larger recreation area, the dog park has amenities like paved trails, shaded areas, ample parking, and both dog and human water fountains (note: water fountains may be turned off in winter, so it’s a good idea to bring your own water). There is also a children’s playground and accessible walking trails nearby, making Buffaloe Road Park a pet-friendly destination for the whole family in Raleigh. Keep in mind that the park can get muddy after rain, and it’s often busier on weekends.
It’s a decent dog park. There are separate sides for large & small dogs.
It’s a fairly consistently busy place. I only take my dog if there are no other dogs, as such he’s only gone once. The walking trails at this park are great which is what we do instead of the dog park. Never a wasted trip.
Great dog park! The big dog area is HUGE, with both shade and sun, a lot of benches, and a good dog and people water fountain system. Really nice place!
Good sizes. Both large and small fenced. Ample parking, nice paved trail walks
It’s an OK dog park. Not the best in town, but meets expectations. The turn off their water in the winter (probably to avoid freezing pipes” be sure to bring a jug of water to share, the pups will thank you. The park gets muddy as it doesn’t use wood chips, or they have all wore out. I noticed that I often get sinus issues after visiting. I’m not sure if it’s something growing nearby, or if it’s dirt and dust from the sparse turf. Has 2 areas. Not explicitly marked Big/Small dogs. We have been asked to move from one area to the other by patrons with small dogs. Might be worth marking the intended use. If I may recommend, please install cameras at the dog parks. It would be nice to check if they are too busy, or muddy before driving there.
We love Buffaloe Road Dog Park! After moving to the Raleigh area, my two rescues and I were looking for a dog park to frequent. I am so glad we found Buffaloe Road! We have made four legged and two legged friends, a supportive community, and a beautiful, clean place to run and play. The best part of my dogs (and my) day is going to Buffaloe Road Dog Park.
