Putnam Lions Memorial Dog Park is a welcoming spot for you and your pup near downtown Putnam, Connecticut. Located at 16 Kennedy Dr, this pet-friendly park offers both a small dog area and a much larger side for big dogs, ensuring dogs can safely play off-leash with others their size. The park is situated beside a beautiful walking and hiking path along the river—an ideal setting for dog-friendly hikes and scenic strolls.
This dog park features amenities such as picnic tables, seating, accessible parking, waste bags, and trash bins to make visits enjoyable and convenient. While the small dog area is mostly grass and well-maintained, the large dog area can become dusty or muddy depending on the weather. Please note there is no water fountain, so bringing water for your dog is recommended. The park is praised for being clean and accessible, with a friendly community atmosphere, and is even connected to a local farmers market on certain occasions.
Very nice walking path next to river. Very clean.a good place to walk dogs
I’ve only been here once but the pup loved running around and exploring the open space without being in a leash! Right on the walking path too which is nice.
Very nice small dog side and much larger big dog side. Great parking lot and easy short distance to the entrance. However, if you have a very small dog it can easily escape under the entrance gate to the small dog side. I have included my 8 pound chi letting herself in. She has also let herself out and now I block that spot with the garbage can. Makes it tough to do poopy patrol because I don’t dare leave the gate.
Dogs playing ,people walking, talking.
The farmers market is there also . Not when I was there . Very nice place..
I’m a Is commercial drone pilot. I was flying me drone at this time..

Cute little park just off the highway. Mostly, grass on the small dog side, but the large dog side has been worn down and us very dusty (and I imagine can get muddy).
No water, although bags and trash were available.
