🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Waggin’ Tails Dog Park is a local favorite in Pueblo, Colorado for dog lovers seeking a friendly place for pups to socialize and exercise off-leash. Conveniently located on E Hahns Peak Ave, this small, fully fenced park offers the essentials for a spontaneous outing. While the park is compact, its welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to connect with fellow pet owners and let your dog make new friends.
Pet parents love the accessible location and the sense of community here, often noting how responsible and friendly visitors are. There isn’t separated space for small and large dogs, so all sizes play together in the same area. The park’s terrain is mostly dirt with limited grass due to the region’s climate, and there is some community-supplied water and bowls—but you may want to bring your own. If you’re looking for a casual, no-frills off-leash spot in Pueblo, Waggin’ Tails is a convenient choice.
I’ve never had a bad experience here. It isn’t the biggest dog park l, but that can be a good thing if the doggos get in a tiff with each other, ya don’t have to run a mile. They have commu ity supplied dog water bowls and refills.
I have been coming here since my pups finished their shots and were approved for public interaction. The people here are very responsible with their pets. My dogs have developed many friends here over a year, both furry and human. Easily found off Purcell…there is no segregated big, small dog areas…so know that up front. Great place for the pups to play.
I feel like this is a great little dog park. I did notice several people not picking up after their pets. It is bring your own water.
My only hope is that the town takes care of what little grass is in the dog park. I find too often that when the town doesn’t take care of them, they turn into large dirt play area. My dog loves to run and play in the grass, that is what will keep us coming back.
I’m not sure what I expected but it wasn’t a little penned area with no grass. it looks like someone put a dog area together in the back parking lot of the Park & Rec office in two days and self-proclaimed that it’s a suitable dog park for Pueblo. this has a closer resemblance to an off-the-highway area where you would take your dog to pee on a long road trip rather than a stereotypical dog park where one has actual room to run that’s also maintained. in that same outing, my husband, pup, and I learned that you’re better off taking your dog to nearby parks for exercise and socializing!
Nice small park. Advantage is it is close enough for a spontaneous excursion.
The downside is there is no separate small dog area, grass suffers in the harsh high plains desert climate.
But dog owners are some of the best people to chat with, so you will never have a bad day at the dog park.
