🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located at 301 Parkside Ln, City Park Dog Park is one of the most loved dog parks in Pueblo, Colorado. Right next to the Pueblo Zoo and ball fields, this dog-friendly park offers a variety of amenities perfect for social pups and their owners. The park features fenced areas, including a dedicated space for small breeds under 18 inches and a larger main section for all dogs. Dog owners appreciate the mix of open sandy ground and grassy fields, giving every pup plenty of room to run and play.
City Park Dog Park stands out for its thoughtful touches, like dog bone benches, agility equipment, ropes, tunnels, ramps, and multiple water tubs and fountains for hydration and summer splashes. Shady trees and plenty of seating make it comfortable for owners while their dogs mingle. Regular visitors work together to keep the park clean and welcoming, and onsite bathrooms are a helpful plus. This park’s community vibe and convenient location in a larger city park with pet-friendly trails make it a must-visit for local dog lovers!
Used to love this park, but they keep screwing it up. I mean, the hot dry weather didn’t help, but the landscapers, and crews working around on the ball parks; now it’s a great place to roll an ankle.
Pretty great little dog park located in the middle of a great city park. There is a big patch of grass, a gravel area with fun obstacles lots of tables and benches as well as restrooms and a water faucet. Pretty decent amount of shade, especially for Pueblo. There is also a smaller park for dogs under 18″. If it’s too hot, the dog park is actually inside the city park which is very shady and grassy so could always just walk there on leash.
Right by the Pueblo zoo and in-between to ball fields. Nice owners and friendly dogs, since everybody has to get along. Great place for pups to socialize. There’s a huge sandy area and green field. Park includes 2 dog areas divided so smaller breeds can safely enjoy themselves, and the main area for all breeds. There are bathrooms, as well as a water fountain pump for the dogs. Picnic style seating and a double-sided ramp. Seems regular visitors know the way of the park and help keep it clean and take care of the dogs communally when there (fill water bowls and pools). Very nice and peaceful and also regularly patrolled by security.
It was cool, cute little dog bone benches, two different swinging ropes for the dog equivalent of a swing, a big tub for swimming, a smaller tub I assume for the same as its way bigger then necessary for just drinking, and of course another smallish tub clearly for drinking alone. There was numerous golf balls everywhere, a nice in-between area separating the outside and inside so you can take off your dog(‘s/s’) leash(es), lots of shade offering tree areas. Tunnels to run through, an elevated platform to teach or have dog walk across as they do in dog shows, and numerous rocks and all together it was a very nice looking, lovely dog themed adventure area. My only qualm was there was no grass whatsoever on any of the areas fenced in to include the entirety of the dog park, although I was informed the fence used to extend much farther to include the grassy area and as signs nearby seemed to point to a temporary diminishing of the entire dog park area for necessity due to seeding and construction activities on the rest of the nearby land. So, granted that was true, then it’d definitely change my rating to 5 stars but until the entirety of the intended park has full access I chose to rate a solid 4 (I’d rate a 4.5 more specifically if half star ratings were allowed to be given by an individual but they are only awarded when earned by averaging the total star rating votes.
It was cute and fun and had a lot of adorable things for dogs to entertain themselves with and I do truly find the entire place charming and functional and effective to keep a pup or dog happy.
My Bernedoodle loves the dogpark..she gets to play and has friends..her socialization has gotten much better from all the interaction
